ALAG runs a monthly support group for adults on the autistic spectrum living in the Greater London area, although those from elsewhere are welcome. It is a chance to meet others to talk about common issues and to support and help each other.
The first half-hour of the meeting is spent socialising and having refreshments. This is followed by the whole group sitting down together to discuss an agreed topic or to hear from different speakers who offer information and guidance on issues relating to autism. These topics are planned in advance and any member can suggest a future topic. Some of the topics are listed below.
To find out more about ALAG or book a place to attend any of the meetings, please send us a message here.

Autism and Sensory Wellbeing – Nurturing Our Senses in Nature
Tuesday 1 September 2026
Our regular monthly ALAG–Autism Hub takes place on Tuesday 1 September, with a focus on “Autism and Sensory Wellbeing – nurturing our senses in nature.”
Nature can offer opportunities to explore our senses, regulate, relax and connect with the world around us. We’ll explore how different aspects of nature can affect our sensory wellbeing and share personal experiences, ideas and favourite places.
The session will include discussion around nature walks and favourite outdoor spots, as well as opportunities to share ideas and experiences around birdwatching, plants and the natural environment.
There will also be some fun activities, including a “Name That Plant or Tree” quiz, with photographs and multiple-choice answers featuring plants and trees commonly found in the UK. We may also include some UK birds for the birdwatchers among us!
Ahead of the session: if you have a favourite nature walk, park, woodland, beauty spot or other place that you find particularly enjoyable or calming, please email me the details. We can share some of these during the session and in the follow-up information afterwards.
This event is online only, and will not be recorded.
