ALAG runs a monthly support group for adults on the autistic spectrum living in the Greater London area although those from elsewhere are welcome. It is a chance to meet others to talk about common issues and to support and help each other. The first half-hour of the meeting is spent socialising and having refreshments. This is followed by the whole group sitting down together to discuss an agreed topic or to hear from different speakers who offer advice and guidance on issues relating to autism. These topics are planned in advance and any member can suggest a future topic. Some of the topics are listed below.

The group meets on the first Tuesday of every month in Islington from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Booking in advance for new attendees is essential. There is a small entrance fee of £3 (members) or £5 (non-members) to cover the cost of refreshments, including a vegetarian option.

    Wednesday 14th April - Webinar 3.30pm - 5pm

Would you like to participate in a live autism interactive research webinar on Wednesday 14 April 2021?

Research title: How do autistic adults without an accompanying learning disability experience the existing care, ongoing education, employment and support pathways?

A coresearcher group have been formed by members of the Autism Hub, ALAG, Autism Voice, Autistic Adult Choir, 2 Camden employees, 2 MA in Autism students studying at the London South Bank University and members of London South Bank University’s Critical Autism and Disability research group.

This is coproduced, participatory autism research rooted in emancipatory principles (e.g. Nothing about us without us principles).

We are reaching out to autistic adults to see who may like to participate in a live interactive autism research webinar on Wednesday 14 April 2021 from 3.30pm to 5.00pm to share lived experience perspectives about the pathway of care and support for autistic adults who do not have an accompanying learning disability.

All questions will be shared in advance and no participant will be asked to talk on screen.  There will be a live, interactive autism research poll on the screen and no one will be put on the spot.

This is a national event, wherever you live across the country you are welcome to attend.

If you would like to participate you will also be invited to a research findings feedback webinar at a later date once the research is completed.

We are also asking you to share the details of this event as widely as you can and thank you in advance for your support!
